Music and Arts

The music department enjoys a high profile within the school. Every child has a music lesson as a class, and many of them have individual lessons as well. Currently tuition is given in trumpet, singing, saxophone, recorder, piano, oboe, guitar, flute and drums. We are always ready to consider catering for further instruments

The twenty five strong chapel choir sings at all our chapel services and gives occasional performances in public - there is a popular Christmas engagement at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and a magnificent School Christmas Carol Service held in Eton College Chapel.

Many of the children have done so well in music that they have won a number of music scholarships to their various senior schools.

Drama
There are at least three major theatrical performances each year, (often musicals) - the senior play, the middle school play and the junior farrago, and all the children are encouraged to join in.

Recent productions have been The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, the pantomime Sleeping Beauty, Oliver! and Bugsy Malone.

The Pre Prep also put on three performances every year: two at Christmas and a final one for the Year 2s before their ascent into the prep school.

Art
Art lessons are really popular, and result in colourful displays of work all round the school. Educational trips to the major public art galleries in London are a regular class activity.

With the increasing popularity of ceramics we have purchased a new kiln, and we are very proud that one of our pupils was recently awarded an art scholarship to Charterhouse.
