School detentions

Following discussions with staff it has been decided to introduce school detentions for persistent and serious breaches of discipline. These are to be introduced to support the present disciplinary and sanctions system and to reinforce the standards of behaviour and care for others that we anticipate in the school community. In order for school detentions to be effective they need the support of parents and staff and they should be seen as a sanction beyond the orange and purple cards currently in place.
To summarise:
1. Detentions will be given only by The Headmaster and the Deputy Heads although they may be requested by all members of the Common Room.
2. Supervision of detentions will be carried out by members of the SMT.
3. Detentions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 5.30 and 6.30 pm.
4. For a Tuesday detention notice will be given the previous Friday and for a Thursday detention the previous Monday.
5. Detentions have priority over ALL other activities.
6. The detention task will be written but not work related.
The effectiveness of any sanctions system relies upon the wholehearted support of all involved and I trust the above will be seen as a positive reinforcement of the high standards of behaviour we all aspire to for our children.

New Headmaster

Jonathan Perry
Following James Barnes' decision to retire as Headmaster of Lambrook in July 2010, the Board of Governors has appointed a new Headmaster to succeed him.
I am delighted to inform you that the Board has appointed Jonathan Perry to be the next Headmaster of Lambrook with effect from 1 September 2010.
Jonathan Perry is currently the Headmaster at Kingsmead School in Hoylake in the Wirral - a post he took up in 2006. Prior to this Jonathan spent ten years at Monkton Combe School in Bath where he was a member of the Senior Management Team, Senior Housemaster and Head of Department. Before this, he had spent five years at Wheatley Park School, Oxford where he was Head of Year for 250 pupils in Years 7-9.
Jonathan studied for his PGCE at Cambridge University and has a degree in Religious Studies & History from the University of Gloucestershire.
Charles Donald
Chairman of Governors
