Pre Prep (ages 4+ to 7) At Lambrook School we aim to inspire every child to develop into a confident, well-educated and characterful individual with an enthusiasm for learning. We believe that children can benefit from schooling from the age of four, and they may enter the Pre Prep in the September following that birthday. There is generally only one intake a year. We aim to nurture an individual’s talents and to develop an enquiring mind. The child’s desire to work and learn flourishes in our spacious, bright and imaginative classrooms with their stimulating activities. Learning The Pre Prep contributes the best elements of traditional teaching, placing strong emphasis on numeracy and literacy, strongly supported by a broad range of activities and subjects across the curriculum. This provides opportunities for all children to reach their full potential and experience a sense of achievement from an early age. This gives a very sound basis for continuing into the Junior School.
In addition to the core subjects of English, Maths, Science and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the children are taught History, Geography, French, Art and Design Technology (DT), Music, PE and Religious Education (RE). Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 18, which enables us to give your child a lot of individual attention. As well as the class teacher and classroom assistant, each class benefits from specialist teachers for Physical Education (PE), Swimming, Music and French. This ensures that high standards of teaching are maintained in all the curriculum areas. Culture The Pre Prep is a caring society, based on Christian values. Other faiths are taken into consideration to give children an awareness of different cultures and enable them to grow up with non-stereotypical images of people around them.
